John R. Oishei Children's Hospital is Western New York's regional level III NICU. On November 14, 2005 the Alfiero Family Helipad landed at Women and Children's Hospital, which allows the pediatric and neonatal transport teams to dramatically improve access for critically sick and injured patients to receive critical care. John R. Oishei Children's Hospital hosts a regional level I pediatric trauma center and the only miniature access surgical program in a freestanding children's hospital in North America.
